About us

How We Began

Chickpeaz started when my mom gifted me a Husqvarna embroidery machine after my dad passed away in 2005. "A gift from him", she said. At the time, our kids were 2,4,5 & 7. It was so very emotional...missing my dad so much & then this beautiful machine that I didn't have much time to use. As the kids grew, I was able to put it to work, learning so much over the years. We've upgraded to a commercial Tajima  machine...the original Husqvarna always close by, along with thoughts of my dad.

Our Name

Established in 2007, Chickpeaz is the nickname my dad gave to me growing up. It started when my grandmother, who was a huge BINGO player, would come to my Little League softball games. I was #11, so she would yell, "Go Chicken Legs!" when I was up to bat. This was what the BINGO caller would yell when B11 was pulled during games, to liven up the BINGO hall. Over the years I was called Chick Chicky, and Chick-a-dee. One day my dad called me Chickpea, and that's the one that stuck all these years.

Our Philosophy

Each project is unique in completing a special item that truly can become one-of-a-kind. There are endless font styles and thread colors to use and even size and placement have a large effect on what a monogram can do to complete an item. Once font style, size and thread color are decided, we decide the best hoop,  top and bottom stabilizer, thread type and thickness, and needle size to use. We analyze each project to ensure the best monogram outcome every time.

Day to Day

Each project has its own needs and we strive to produce a perfect monogram for each individual item.

Our End Goal

We take great care in completing the many steps to assure each monogram will not only look great, but stand the test of time with daily usage.
